Bonne chance

I’m interested in knowing more about upcoming conferences and workshops.
I have my BA in Creative Arts in Therapy (visual arts) in the US. Currently I’m working towards my MS in Art Therapy. I work as an expressive art therapist in an adolescent residential treatment center. I also facilitate a group at a homeless shelter. I want to expand on contracting out work for myself and possibly others in the field. Does anyone have information about this? Also, more web connections in this venue?

Kathy, connect to us through the egroup I have set up. See the sidebar for a link to our site and how to become a member.

I am currently working on my MS in Art Therapy. I work with adults with chronic mental illness in a day treatment program in the Bronx, NY. I am going to move to Charleston SC, and was wondering how to find opportunties to continue working in the field

Hello Jennie, your best bet is to connect with the NC or SC chapter of the AATA. Second you may want to subscribe to the online group I manage and post your request there. (Follow the instructions in the side bar). There are others out there too. Good luck

I am so excited to find your site! I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Montana who serves in a School Based Program. I use art and play heavily in my work with traumatized and seriously emotionally abused adolescents. I am interested in joining your e group, and find additional training, possibly my doctorate. Bravo for a web site well done that moves my spirit!

Thank you Elizabeth and good luck in your further training.

Good day,
So currently I’m a graphic designer with a BFA in graphic design but over the past year I have become more interested in Art Therapy. I enjoy working with kids and helping others so to change career paths has been an idea I’ve been kicking around.
I was wondering if there where any programs you highly recommended. I would like to get out of the states for training, not only to get an over all global view on things but to just travel. If you have any advice I would be greatful.
Thanks

I recommend Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM. It’s not out of the country, but different enough that it just might fit the bill for more adventure. They offer a master’s program in Art Therapy. I went to school there about 14 years ago. http://www.swc.edu for more information.

Hi,
I’m currently a second year MPS graduate student in creative arts therapy at Pratt in Brooklyn. I’m writing my thesis on self-portraiture, women, and midlife crisis. I’m looking for research participants. My study would entail being interviewed and creating a self-portrait.
Thanks!

Hi everybody,
I am faced with having to make a fast decision whether to enroll in Hertfortshire (Ma art therapy), Roehampton (same) or the Central School of Speach and Drama (Ma drama and movement therapy).
Does amyone out there know these schools and the campuses?
Can anyone help me?? I have not been to any of the schools. I have only done one semester of expressive art therapy at the CIIS in SF and it was fantastic!!!
I would be grateful for any info!
Thanks a lot!!
